ABOUT VERITY ENTERTAINMENT

We are an entertainment company that strives for truth in everything we produce.
Our goal is to represent things as close to reality as possible. Truth is not subjective and it exists outside of any personal belief system. It doesn't conform to any dogmatic belief system rooted in a cult mindset. We don’t claim to have all the answers but only that we strive to uncover and present fundamental truth.
This has led us to a Christian worldview rooted in the word of God.
All forms of media that are truly great and timeless are in some fundamental way true. The funniest jokes are the ones that expose lies and reveal truth.
A good story excites the imagination because it reveals core attributes of human nature. Calling something cheesy is just another way of saying it's false and fundamentally dishonest.
Truth is not always pretty, it's not always easy, but it's always worth pursuing no matter the cost.

Our Mission & Vision
Our mission is to produce the most accurate, realistic and truthful content possible.

History
Verity was originally founded in 2019. For many years prior, we had watched carefully, many different productions created around biblical stories with great excitement and hope because we believe film is a tremendous way to tell these stories. However unfortunately in each and every case we came away disappointed. When Hollywood would make a Bible film they always placed more value on making the narrative feel more plausible and exciting or promoting their own political agenda and would change fundamental core elements of the story. For example the movie The Ten Commandments starring Charleton Heston as Moses is considered one of the all time greats however there were many crucial elements of the story they changed for example when Moses encountered the burning bush he was around the age of 40 in the movie and they made the encounter cause his hair to turn white, causing his wife to exclaim “Moses your hair!”, but in the biblical narrative, Moses was actually closer to the age of 80 when he encountered the burning bush. Consider the huge impact and implications of an 80 year old leader confronting Pharaoh and leading the Israelites out of Egypt versus a fit tan 40 year old. This simply is infuriating to believers because it diminishes the greatness of the story and the power of God.
The flip side of this is Christian filmmakers who have a different problem when making bible films. Far too many seem intent on the goal of making Christianity cool and while they share a similar desire for maintaining the integrity of the scriptural account their interpretation is biased by this desire. One of the best examples is in the many portrayals of Sampson. Every movie that I have seen portrays Sampson as a buff Atlas like figure that looks cool and hip and seems to convey, “see Chrisitans aren’t pansies look at this guy.”

However ask yourself if Sampson looked more like Arnold Schwarzenegger why would the Philistines be so puzzled at the source of his great strength? Duh, it's his muscles! This however is a crucial element of the story insomuch that they had to employ Delilah the chief villain in the story to trick Sampson into giving away his secret. So it was clear that this man had to have had a secret in order to do the things that he was able to do which left people in disbelief.

I would submit that it’s far more plausible that Sampson in fact was average build and size, maybe even below average because one that would explain the puzzlement on the part of the Philistines and two it is consistent with the kind of people God uses all throughout scripture. He uses the weak the dismissed the 80 year old leaders the Shepherd boy or a bunch of unschooled fishermen to do his amazing works.

Out of this frustration was born a passion to tell the gospel story not only with historical and biblical accuracy but also with emotional integrity, capturing the feelings, settings and world in which the story happened as perfectly as we can.
For example when you watch any bible film portraying the gospel they show Peter in the garden with a sword cutting off the ear of Malchus the servant of the high priest but in the next scene show him cowardly denying Jesus 3 times.

Does it not bother you to ask how Peter gets from literally trying to fight for Jesus’ life in the garden and quite literally willing to sacrifice his life to a few hours later denying him 3 times? It happened and all show it but no one has ever put together a plausible narrative and emotional journey to explain such a drastic and dramatic turn by Peter.

This is why we began the painstaking process of creating an adaptation using all 4 gospel accounts of the story into a narrative script we named Petra. The script has been through numerous revisions and edits and has been in development since 2012 and obtained a copyright in 2019.

Looking at scripture there are literally endless stories that have never been told or never told with the attention to historical detail, biblical accuracy and emotional authenticity. To see the projects that Verity currently has in development please visit our PROJECTS page.
Our Team.
Truth above all unapologetic and unfiltered, timeless and core not a matter of anyone's opinion or perspective.

Our Core Principles
and beliefs
TRUTH
Truth above all and in everything we do, from our content, to the way we engage with people.
Better is open rebuke than love that is concealed. - Proverbs 27: 5
Faithful are the wounds of a friend, But deceitful are the kisses of an enemy. -Proverbs 27:6

We represent the naked truth even when it is certain to cause conflict because we know the conflict is better than the deception, however deceptively peaceful it is.
diversity
We firmly celebrate and embrace diversity but not the kind that is only superficial or skin deep but rather diversity of thought and perspective. Many very ethnically diverse groups organized today are part of the collective “Group Think”. So while they may look different and come from different backgrounds. Thinking, acting and believing the same does not lead to true diversity.

We believe that the best things come from a group of people with diverse perspectives and ways of thinking. The conflict that arises from this diversity can be very constructive and it allows for a constant state of growth if maintained. It is in this tension we were meant to live as christians. Not separating ourselves based on theology or creating echo chambers that give us stagnant limited perspectives.

Proverbs 15:22 Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.
