The Youth Group follows 15 year old Collin Reilly a good christian kid with a good heart who
doesn't want to go to youth group. Now why would a good christian kid who loves Jesus not want to go to youth group? Well because Collin was bullied and hurt by kids in youth group to a point where he
decided to leave for good, because he feels closer to God when he's not at church. But after months of prodding from his parents, Collin decides to give youth group another try. He finds that youth group is exactly how he remembers it, weird games that make you feel awkward, popular kids in their social cliques, and of course segway driving youth pastors. However, while there, Collin meets Kayla, his best friend, and Travis, an atypical jock who just so happens to be the pastor's son, who both share Collin's misgivings about youth group. They all very quickly become friends and help each other navigate the crazy world of growing up in youth group.

To put it bluntly this group is just like every other youth group, it's got the popular girls Ashley and Vanna, who on Wednesdays always wear pink to Bible study. Then there's the arrogant jock Braden, Travis's half brother who is always getting into trouble, and the class clown Brett, a guy who does the most outlandish and audacious things he possibly can to gain the most attention. Lastly there's the youth pastor Chad, and his wife Tracy, who are constantly trying new and innovative ways of getting kids excited about coming to youth group including t-shirt cannons, fog machines, and of course segways.

Over the course of the show Collin continues to build strong relationships with his friends, while also dealing with the annoying antics that come with youth group. With all of this in mind, the question that follows Collin throughout the entire course of the show is, is youth group worth it? Or is it a complete waste of time?
