I didn’t see it coming
This rage of joy in my heart
In our dreams,
You were always a part
I can barely breathe
This sudden love is so strong
Love so overwhelming
As life plays for us a new song
It only took a second
For my dreams and peace to collide
My heart opened up
And you just stepped inside
His beautiful blessing
Woven together of our love
A priceless gift
From Daddy above
His time, His way, His will
Do our lives unfold
His courage, His faith, His love
Are so very bold
He quiets my throbbing heart
He calms my ranting fears
He has not left us all alone
He will always be right here
Our beautiful baby
A tiny piece of heaven’s treasure
Every second our love for you grows
His amazing love is beyond measure
A Raging Joy- Many emotions come with joy. As I wrote this particular poem and knew that a precious new life was being created right under my heart, many emotions popped up. I was surprised at the timing, shocked by the huge gift, afraid of all that could go wrong, yet excited at all that could go right. A bit of fear at the unknown and uncertainty which lay ahead. Speechless at the blessing, this precious gift. One of the most blessed gifts I had ever received before in my entire life. All was not as planned nor perfect, yet He never left me alone, He was always right there and as I thought of holding our baby for the very first time, the word “happy” just didn’t cut it. Being joyous, having this huge joy just go through me. Well just simply joy did not cut it either. The best way I knew how to describe it was rage- something that comes upon you so quick and so fierce, but a good rage- a joyous rage, a raging-joy.
After that baby finally made his appearance, and I held that sweet precious one so tightly in my arms, I did indeed know that I was right, it was a raging joy indeed!
Joyfully, I shout and come before Him, the sheep of his pasture, entering His gates with thanksgiving, His courts with praise for His love and faithfulness continue throughout all generations, He is gracious and compassionate and His love will endure forever! Everlasting gladness and joy overtakes us, and His love for us- is an exceedingly, raging joy.
