Joy- I see joy in so many things. Joy is extraordinary, it comes bursting forth at times quite unexpectedly. Joy catches me unaware and absolutely takes my breath away.
Those times when I look up and catch my husband looking at me, with a certain look- the look that only after sharing many, many years together can one decipher. It’s the kind of look that puts a spring to my step and a smile upon my face and fills my heart.
To see blonde ringlet curls bounce from a toddler as they hop and jump across the backyard in pure glee for no apparent reason whatsoever, other than they are happy and they can run and jump and be alive.
Holding a baby in your arms and having them look up at you and suddenly smile as they coo and talk.
Holding a weathered, wrinkled hand of an old sweet dear friend during a prayer in a church worship service.
A remembrance of how Jesus loves you and how He has seen you through those things which you never thought would be okay again, ever- yet here you are and all may not be perfect, but all is well once more.
The extreme satisfying joy of truly worshipping Him! In praise of song, thinking of His wonderful acts, glory in His holy name, looking to Him for strength, seeking His face always.
Splendor and majesty are before Him, strength and joy are in His dwelling place- and when I think and meditate upon Him strength and joy are in my dwelling place as well!
Joy- worshipping Him in the splendor of His holiness, does make me tremble and I do shout- Yes, the Lord reigns! Jubilant fields and singing trees, I do give my most deepest thanks, and can rest in Him as His love indeed does endure forever. May we rest in that today.
