He is always with me.
People have let me down, big time! Family has let me down, completely deserted me. Friends have let me down, betrayed me, stabbed me in the back, and I have often times come away feeling so small. I feel very insignificant and like no one cares about me at all. I feel invisible and like no one really sees me. People have forgotten me. Family has forgotten me. Friends have forgotten me.
During these painful moments of very thin vulnerability the enemy is right there. He is waiting with a grin on his face, and keeps feeding me those lies which make me feel like no one cares, like no one loves me and that I am in fact alone in the world and a drain on everyone, of the worst kind. Oh the enemy relishes these misunderstandings. He just lives for them.
People have let me down, yet I am sure I have let others down as well. Family has let me down and have deserted me, yet I don’t have to take their absence as my fault. Friends may forget me, yet sometimes they have their own problems to deal with .
Oh my Jesus, Oh my Jesus, His promises are firm, His promises are sure and as beautiful as the rising sun warm upon your face. Jesus teaches me. He teaches me to be brave, and take just one small step at a time, just one. I can take that step in full confidence, in pure trust, in assurance of His undying love for me. I need not search for Him. He is always with me. He will always find me. He waits patiently for me to notice Him and we will always, always, always, be together.
I enter His embrace feeling lonely, insignificant, betrayed, deserted, feeling pretty low, feeling pretty bad. Alone. I stay in His embrace and feel His love washing over me, fully loved, important, significant, in my place He has for me and He always makes room for me. Jesus sees my glory. The glory shining out of me IS Jesus, my Jesus.
Yep that old enemy isn’t getting these moments from me, not this time!
My Jesus will always help me find my smile 🙂
