KEEPING YOU FROM SINKING

Sudden feelings of sadness

Like I had been hacked

Gloomy and in despair

I realize I’m being attacked.

So quickly the enemy comes in

Making pure lies, swell

My mind stays on the negative

A hurtful place to dwell.

With the truth so confused

I sit stuck, so unsure

In bewilderment, paralyzed

Of this uncertainty I endure.

The enemy is right there putting a spotlight

On my every single mistake

Making me feel so guilty

Awful, ignorant and fake.

He wants to keep us down

Making us feel so very low

Over everything in our life

He casts a dark shadow.

Look up and see the truth

Letting the lies dissolve

In your own mind, be assured

Of what is true, and resolve.

May we put our full trust in Jesus

Valiantly commanding the enemy to flee

Jesus gives us the great comfort

And His truth will always set us free.

The sweetest peace we’ve ever known

He grants us, so very swift

Our mistakes become the enemies torture

But our heavy burdens, He lifts.

So when you feel uncertainty

Test your thoughts, your thinking

Jesus will be there, rest assured

Calming the waves, and keeping you from sinking.
