OUR COMFORTING BALM

Broken concentration

Worries pile up, I count the cost

Needing relief

Down in the depths, feeling so lost.

Overwhelmed with many issues

Exaggerated are my needs

So many depending on me

Finding it hard to lead.

In a time of war

Searching for even a sliver of peace

A long hard battle

Any hope built up, drains and cease.

Barely keeping my head above the water

Staying just mostly afloat

Trying to keep from drowning

For I’m not really sure, where’s the boat?

Don’t place restraints or limits

I need to refresh, my views of healing

My well needs replenished for many a day

Before I can go out again and start dealing.

For after the storm hits

We survive, but still remain weak

Our healing cannot be rushed

Strong patience, we must seek.

Pretending makes you bury the hurt

It heaps up, going down deep

Wanting to hide it all inside

Out of sight, we’d like it to keep.

With His blessed reassurance

In time, the storm will calm

In restoration, we gain His sweet strength

Jesus is the relief, our comforting balm.
