One step forward
Three steps back
It becomes discouraging
Unable to stay on track.
Working so very hard
The goal always in sight
In a second, all work gone
The strings on your heart pull tight.
Not being able to do
All the things you need to do
Frustration causes anxiety
Sticking to you like glue.
We need to remember, we have a choice
When things get out of hand
We place our trust in Him
Only then can we make a stand.
We can trust in Him
His blessings, impossible to forget
He will never let us down
Shining in the dark, His light keeps lit.
Waking up suddenly
As if in a dream
One day this shall flow away
Like sparkling water down a stream.
He gives me strength
As on my faith I lean
Helps me recover what I lost
His hidden blessings unseen.
He makes it better
Than it ever was before
Learning through endurance
Though tired, weary and sore.
After being tested in the fire
When all smooth becomes so rough
I know that I’m stronger with You
You’re firm, solid and tough.
A blessing in camouflage
Sometimes staying off track, too
When these setbacks
Keep me ever so close to You.
