If I hadn’t gone through
The hottest fires
I’d never have seen, the beauty beyond
My dear hearts, desire.
The strength I needed
To stay on the path
Could only have been gained
By going through, the time of wrath.
Although wounds have healed
I was still left with the scars
Continual doubt, not believing
That I’d get very far.
Walking the narrow path is hard
The standards are so high
I knew it wouldn’t be easy
But in the end, I had to try.
Believing in His love for me
My very heart, He did fashion
He cares for my dreams
Knows, understands, my deepest passions.
In each and every day
While striving to find the best
Leaning on Him continually
For peace and joyous rest.
My eyes shine with His love
I don’t have to just accept fate
With His blessing, I strive forward
With me, He will celebrate.
Dream of the beauty beyond
Our attention He does enthrall
In this world we will have trouble
But take heart, He has overcome it all.
