My path through this life
Has been anything but smooth
Dodging rocks right and left
Wanting to escape the truth.
Feeling judged, misunderstood
All alone with no one to care
This world so frightening
So blatantly unfair.
Someone has been there all along
He has seen everything
The righteous judge who understands
To my Daddy I joyfully cling.
His love is a precious gift
So treasured, so rare
He fills the lonely place in my heart
He lets me know that He cares.
He takes me beyond
These moments that were so hard
The memories that keep replaying
He is my very guard.
With Him watching over me
I have nothing to fear
My Daddy keeps me safe
As He tenderly holds me near.
A faithful servant I strive to be
He rejoices over me with song
Bravely taking life’s challenges with courage
He makes it okay when things go very wrong.
Nothing will separate me
From my Almighty, my King
Who grants me strength, with His love
Praising Him in every song that I sing.
Only in Him
Does the future look bright
My eyes fixed upon Daddy
My eternal light.
The blessing of Jesus
He knew we would need
To heal from these difficult times
So that we can be free.
