WHY DOES SATAN ATTACK SPECIFIC PEOPLE

There is a war going on! Satan has infiltrated the church and it’s more obvious now than ever. It hurts me deeply to see the church where it is today and you can point fingers and say it’s this elder, or this preacher, or this denomination, that’s ruining everything. But at the center of all the issues with the church it all comes back to Satan!!!! 

But how did we get here? How did we let it get this far? 

Well think about it! put yourself in Satan’s shoes, if you were him and you wanted to destroy the kingdom of God, what would you do? Well for me I would attack the church and cause division, because if we are all united together with the Holy spirit he’s screwed, but, if we are isolated from one another he can go in and take everyone out one by one and separate them from God. Which is exactly what’s been happening. 

But it goes deeper than that, you see so many people who were on fire for God and ready to do amazing work for his kingdom, fall flat on their face and become part of the system of the world and It’s always heartbreaking to see it when it happens.  

One of the best examples of this is in Star Wars Revenge of the Sith, Anakin allowed Palpatine to corrupt him and he became part of the system. But why was Palpatine so interested in Anakin? Why did he watch his career with great interest? It’s because he saw the power that Anakin had, and that he could use it for evil. I mean he even flat out tells General Grievous why he’s interested in a new apprentice.

General Grievous: But what about the loss of Count Dooku?

Palpatine: His death was a necessary tragedy, soon I will have a new apprentice, one much younger, and more powerful!! 

Getting Anakin on his side not only gave him more power and control, but it led to the downfall of the Jedi and that is what Satan is doing right now to the church! He is corrupting the most powerful and influential christians that he possibly can! Because why get rid of a powerful person when you can just corrupt them and then their power becomes yours, and if you take someone who is on fire for God, and turn them into someone who is now speaking out against God, it turns more people away from the kingdom and to me there are few things that are more heartbreaking than that, as Obi-Wan said to Anakin. 

Obi-Wan: You were the chosen one!! It said you would destroy the sith, not join them!! Bring balance to the force!! Not leave it in darkness!!

It hurts me to watch people who were for God become corrupted and a lot of it is because of the power the individual has. 

Take Taylor Swift for example, at the beginning of her career she was a strong christian woman who made music for the kingdom. Her music has inspired millions, and while I’ve never been a big fan of her music, I recognize just how talented of a songwriter and performer she is, even to this day there is no question she is one of the best songwriters and performers of all time…… So what happened? 

Well I won’t bore you with the details but the short version is, she let the system corrupt her and as she puts it!

 I just wanna stay in that lavender haze. 

This hurts to watch because she wasn’t always this way. I mean read some of the lyrics from one of her Christmas songs, early in her career. 

We get so caught up in all of it

Business and relationships

Hundred mile an hour lives

And it’s this time of year

And everybody’s here

It seems the last thing on your mind

Is that the day holds something special

Something holy, not superficial

So here’s to Jesus Christ who saved our lives

It’s something we all try to ignore

And put a wreath up on your door

But here’s something you should know that is for sure

Christmas must be something more.

It’s a beautiful song and I don’t know if most people even remember it. But Satan saw an opportunity and Taylor allowed herself to be corrupted. Because if she continued doing what she was doing she would have made a huge impact for the kingdom. The other day I was at the movie theater and I saw hundreds of little girls all excited, lining up to go see the new Taylor Swift concert movie, and it just broke my heart, just imagine the impact Taylor could have had on all these young girls who look up to her if she didn’t allow herself to be corrupted and become apart of the sytem. The same exact thing happened to Miley Cyrus, again not really a fan of her music, but I have always loved her song the Climb. I mean just read the lyrics.

I can almost see it

That dream I’m dreaming

But there’s a voice inside my head saying

You’ll never reach it

Every step I’m taking

Every move I make feels

Lost with no direction

My faith is shaking

But I, I gotta keep trying

Gotta keep my head held high

There’s always gonna be another mountain

It’s the climb

But just like with Taylor she let herself become corrupted by the system and less than five years after writing the climb, she released a video of her swinging on the wrecking ball and won’t go into details in order to keep this PG-13 at least. 

1 Timothy 4 1-3

Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons,  speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron,  forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

This is why we have to be on full alert! Satan won’t just torture you with lies if he can get you to be on his side, he will. Heck he tried to freaking recruit Jesus!!! You really think he isn’t going to try to recruit you. It’s not just people like Miley and Taylor who are well known musicians either, it’s everyone!!! If you are good at what you do and you are doing it for God’s Kingdom! Watch out because Satan is going to give you everything he’s got!!!

But I don’t want to end this Blog on a downer, as I am writing this I see just how depressing everything is, how powerful Satan has become, and how we’ve ignored it and let him conquer more than he should have. But there is hope!!! The war is not over!!! And we have the greatest weapon of all!!! The Holy Spirit!! We need to stand firm in our faith and realize what is going on and fight against it!! And the good news is we are not alone!! We have our heavenly father who loves us more than life itself as well as many other  brothers and sisters who are facing the same attacks across the world. If we stand together with God Satan has no chance!

Ephesians 6 10-13

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of [c]the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
